Livigno is a high altitude resort (over 1800m), sitting close to the border between Italy and Austria. The resort comprises three small villages: San Antonio, Santa Maria and San Rocco. There are 115km of pistes, with lifts on either side of the valley and runs to suit all abilities. For freestyle skiers and snowboarders, the resort comes into its own, with an impressive ten snow parks and no less than six pipes – it’s for this reason that Livigno plays host to some of the biggest competitions.
The Alta Valtellina ski pass covers Livigno and surrounding resorts, including Santa Caterina, Bormio, and Cima Piazzi-San Colombano. Livigno is a single, mainly pedestrian street that extends just over 1km. It has bars, hotels, specialist shops, and supermarkets. The buildings are small and traditional in size and style. The general atmosphere in Livigno is pleasant and relaxed.
